Hypnotherapy in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County

Sometimes we understand something logically… but still feel stuck.

You may know you want to stop overthinking, feel more confident, release old patterns or respond differently in certain situations — and yet your mind and body keep going back to what feels familiar.

Hypnotherapy can help access the deeper subconscious patterns that may be shaping your thoughts, emotions, behaviors and beliefs, so that healing and change can begin at a deeper level.

What Is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a safe, evidence-informed therapeutic approach that helps you access a deeply relaxed and focused state of awareness. In this state, the mind becomes more receptive to insight, healing and lasting positive change. Contrary to popular myths, hypnosis is not mind control, unconsciousness or losing control of your thoughts. You remain aware, present and in control throughout the entire experience.

As a trained Clinical Hypnotherapist, I gently guide you into a calm, focused state where we can work with the subconscious mind — the place where many long-standing beliefs, emotional patterns, habits and automatic responses are stored. This allows us to move beyond simply managing symptoms and begin addressing the deeper patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, people-pleasing, unwanted habits or emotional distress.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful complement to other therapeutic approaches and integrates beautifully with my mind-body, trauma-informed approach to healing.

How Can Hypnotherapy Help?

Many of our thoughts, emotions and behaviors happen automatically through subconscious programming developed over years of life experiences. Hypnotherapy helps create new, healthier patterns by working with the subconscious mind in a relaxed, receptive state. Clinical hypnotherapy may help support:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Panic attacks
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Fear, phobias and performance anxiety
  • Perfectionism and people-pleasing
  • Self-confidence and self-worth
  • Sleep difficulties and insomnia
  • Grief and loss
  • Chronic pain and tension
  • Breaking unwanted habits
  • Emotional regulation
  • Personal growth and mindset shifts

Because every person is unique, hypnotherapy is always tailored to your individual goals. Rather than offering scripted suggestions, I customize each session based on your history, nervous system and the patterns we are working to transform.

My Approach to Hypnotherapy

Unlike stage hypnosis, my work is rooted in clinical training, neuroscience and trauma-informed care. I don't believe healing comes from simply telling someone to "think differently."

I often combine clinical hypnotherapy with evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Brainspotting, mindfulness, breathwork, somatic practices and nervous system regulation to create lasting change from the inside out.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in old patterns, healing from trauma or simply wanting to reconnect with yourself, hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool for accessing the inner resources that already exist within you.

What Does a Hypnotherapy Session Look Like?

A hypnotherapy session is typically 90 minutes and may include:

  1. A conversation about your goals and what you'd like to work toward
  2. Gentle breathing and relaxation techniques that help quiet the mind and settle the nervous system
  3. Guided hypnotherapy tailored to your goals — which may include guided imagery, therapeutic suggestions, visualization or mindfulness
  4. Time to process, reflect and integrate what came up before I gently guide you back to full alertness, leaving you feeling grounded, relaxed and refreshed

Depending on your goals, we may work on reducing anxiety, building confidence, releasing limiting beliefs, changing unwanted habits or exploring the deeper roots of emotional patterns in a safe and supportive way.

Everyone experiences hypnosis a little differently. Some people remain aware of everything that happens during the session, while others remember very little afterward and describe the experience as feeling like they took a deeply restorative nap. Both experiences are completely normal and can be equally effective.

To help reinforce the work we do together, you'll receive a personalized recording of your hypnotherapy session to listen to daily for the following 30 days. Repetition helps strengthen the new neural pathways and subconscious patterns we're creating, allowing the benefits of the session to deepen and integrate into everyday life.

This Work May Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Feel ready to go deeper than insight alone
  • Notice repeating emotional or relational patterns
  • Want support changing beliefs at the subconscious level
  • Are open to mind-body healing approaches
  • Desire a gentle yet powerful path toward change
